Founded January 9, 1997, the Smoky Mountain Romance Writers (SMRW) began from a meeting of 13 women interested in Romantic Fiction. SMRW incorporated in the State of Tennessee on April 1, 1997 and became an affiliated chapter of Romance Writers of America?? in May of that year.
