The Smoky Mountains have been home to the Stalans family since 1994. During that time, Mike Stalans, Spur'n "S" Rodeo producer and stock contractor, has been producing award-winning rodeos and bucking stock for the Spur'n "S" Rodeo show, as well as the (NFR) National Finals Rodeo. Today, over 90% of Spurn'n "S" Rodeo top bucking stock is raised at the Spur'n "S" ranch at Blaine. Spur'n "S" bucking stock has been selected by the top cowboys to buck at County Fairs and the (NCFR)National Cowboy Finals Rodeo since the rodeo's inception in 1994. In addition to the NCFR, Spur'n "S" Rodeo's stock is chosen yearly to perform at the National Cowboy Finals, NCA Tours, and County Fair Rodeos.

Recent stock awards include:

·2005 - Bucking Bull of the Year in the NCA--T9 - Lucky Charm
·2005 - Bareback Horse of the Year in the NCA--711 Jerking Johnny
·2005 - 2005 Saddle Bronc of the Year in the NCA--6 Good Bye Time
·2005 - Mike was voted the 2005 Stock Contractor of the Year.
