Time to Retire

Yes, that is the tone in this country today and it is entirely a result of our career politicians' inability to continuously dance around and avoid the massively bulging errors and lies swept under the carpet of American public perception...the complete and utter failure demonstrated in handling both domestic and foreign affairs responsibly, the unforgivable lack of accountability, yep, the politicians that voted to pass these violations of common decency against their fellow patriots with their odious "Patriot Act", these politicians responsible for our current disastrous foreign and economic policy/situation, terrorizing Americans and the world with their "War on Terror"...it's time for you to (like Tom Delay) send off your parting shots, say your final goodbyes. So long, you will not be missed. Republicans welcome a relief from the idiocy, the auctioning off of our country to the highest bidder, and other sundry and shameless examples of fiscal mismanagement and breaches of ethics. Let's do the right thing and clean up the mess they've made, sure, they might need a little smacking with a rolled up newspaper (or lawsuit...maybe a little jail-time in their own Guantanamo Bay), maybe could use a little rubbing their noses in their own sordidness...we've all born the stain on our conscience long enough, time for them to wear it too. Then we can apologize to the world, to the dead, to the mourning, we can at last, pray for forgiveness with a clean conscience. And afterwards, the sun will surely come out and we'll get on with getting this country, the environment, and our debt whipped into shape. We've done it before. We can do it again.

It's time for real reform. Any politician not on board for genuine reforms in the interest of the majority of Americans (not just their soft-money sponsors), well, voters, let's just let them retire for good from politics-as-usual. And by that I mean any and all of them. These profiteers and spineless yes-men/women have got to go.

But before we leave the Middle East, we must spend a little more time there to rebuild. Not occupy, mind you... R-e-b-u-i-l-d. Not start another war with a neighboring country...not change gears and attack some little country in South America. Like Hiroshima, we must rebuild the conquered nation's hopes and give them half a chance to stand on their own. That's not the way it was after the Gulf War, I know, but let's not pile mistake on top of mistake. It's time for citizens to seize control of this country and do the right thing for everyone...and move on and work together for peace and closure. Maybe this time we'll remember? Maybe this time we'll learn something? We will not become safer by making the world hate us. It's time to rebuild relationships and our country's honor and standing within the world community. Next year we can oust Bolton but this year, we clean house.

Latest polls from a majority of news media prove there is an anti-incumbent sentiment among voters this election season: www.pollingreport.com/2006a.htm
