On Sunday, April 22, 2007, Earth Day is Hip to be Green Day at Shelby Farms Park.

Shelby Farms Park provides a natural backdrop to bring a diversity of people together to learn, to experience and to fellowship in a new way. This event will provide an opening for the people of Shelby County to become involved and committed to making environmental stewardship and Shelby Farms Park part of their lives.

Hip to be Green Day at Shelby Farms Park will be the first Memphis event of its kind to capture the Earth Day spirit of environmental stewardship in a big way. The day will begin with an uplifting and inclusive ?Earth Praise? Gospel Service and will feature music, seminars and forums throughout the day.

Sponsors, neighborhood groups, schools, individuals and their families will be invited to provide teams to participate in predetermined environmental stewardship and restoration projects all over the park on Earth Day, Sunday, April 22, 2007.

Booths will be set up to share information about being healthy and contributing to a healthy world.
